Full-time Small Animal Veterinarian

Complete Care Hospital for Pets

Looking for a fresh start? Rediscover your passion for healing animals and building relationships with clients in a fun and friendly atmosphere. We enjoy an environment of collaboration and intellectual growth where learning is encouraged with open, honest and approachable management.

Through our consistent growth from the great service that we have been known to deliver, we are welcoming a new team member to join our family. We can provide a structured mentor program for new graduates.

About Us

We are proud to be an independently owned mixed animal practice predominantly consisting of a small animal clientele with some hobby farms and companion large animals. We have many of the amenities that larger facilities have, are fully computerized in every exam room and are mostly paperless using Avimark. We are also excited about our plans to expand our facility!

We offer a small hometown feel with an exceptional team that will go the extra mile for the doctors, our patients and the clients. They are truly passionate about their role. We love building relationships with our clients and it makes us proud to hear them rave about how well we take care of them.

“Dr. Larkin the staff at Complete Care go above and beyond every visit. Jessie loves to go to the Vet and see her friends. She is comfortable and excited to interact with everyone. All aspects of her care are plainly explained. Follow up is very through. We have a very high comfort level at Complete Care and are very thankful for the excellent care we receive. Thank you for all you do!” Glenda (Google Review)

“Been coming to CCHP for 2 years now, and I couldn’t of asked for a greater clinic and vet to come see. The teams love & compassion for your pets and you is huge! Every single one of the team is amazing! Thank you for all you do!” Heidi (Google Review)

About this role

We are seeking a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine with small animal experience for a permanent full-time position who is eligible for licensing by the NSVMA. You should have proficiency in soft tissue surgery with an ability to fully work up cases and develop treatment plans with the entirety of the animal in mind. New or recent graduates who are excited for an opportunity to hone their skills in a supportive environment are encouraged to apply.

About you

Our ideal candidate:

  • is genuine, personable, outgoing and has a great sense of humour.
  • loves being a vet and will get down on the floor to greet the animals that come in.
  • can personally connect with owners to get compliance for great care.
  • is organized and efficient in time management with exceptional communication skills.
  • is dedicated to the growth and development of the staff and the business.

We would be pleased if you had any interest in exotics (rodents and pocket pets), backyard poultry, equine, or small ruminant medicine as these are areas where the practice can expand on services needed by the community.

Our location

Lake Echo is a small suburban/semirural area on the Eastern Shore of Nova Scotia but is just 10 minutes east of Dartmouth and 30 minutes from Halifax where entertainment, dining and shopping await. With an abundance of lakes, hiking trails, ocean beaches with great surfing on the Eastern Shore, there is always an adventure to have.

Our offer

You will not be disappointed with our compensation package. We pay salary plus production bonuses to give you security plus perks for delivering great medicine. Isn’t that what we’re here to do? Why not get rewarded for it.

Other benefits include NSVMA and CVMA dues, liability insurance, subsidized extended health care, dental coverage, long term disability insurance, paid CE days and allowance, paid vacation, uniforms and discounted pet care.

We are a shareholder of the Metro Animal Emergency Clinic so there is no on call for small animal care.
