Rare Opportunity – Opening for an RVT and a Veterinarian at Atlantic Cat Hospital, Atlantic Canada’s only Feline Practice!

Are you tired of performing spays on obese dogs?  Working on Saturdays? Come Join us at the Atlantic Cat Hospital – we have an opening for a full or part time DVM who has a passion for Feline Medicine.


Feline only,  AAFP Cat Friendly Practice located on the Halifax peninsula

Independently owned and operated – allows more flexibility

Dedicated to delivering excellent medicine and service to our patients and clients

Collaborative, supportive, welcoming work environment – great staff who work well together as a team

COVID policy– limited hours, closed door at this time except for euthanasias.  Staff safety is our highest priority during these times

Current hours are Mon – Thurs 8:30 – 6 PM and Fridays 1 – 6 PM  –  No Saturdays!

NO ON-CALL!  – we are subscribers to the Metro Animal Emergency

NO BOARDING FACILITY!  There is no weekend or after hours care of boarding/patients required

Clinic has digital xray, digital dental xray, full lab suite, monitoring and safety equipment

Dr. Julia is continuing advanced courses in feline dentistry

Wonderful clientele with high compliance rate


ABOUT YOU:   Cats provide a unique challenge in medicine – they are the masters of disguise!  You must be willing and able to do more than ‘scratch the surface’ with these patients.

Love Cats!  Passion for Feline Medicine a Must!

Have a positive attitude, enjoy working with people and with cats

Good sense of humor is a must!

Great communication skills

Comfortable recommending a high standard of care

DVM’s Licensed to practice in Nova Scotia or eligible to be licensed in Nova Scotia – technicians having passed their board exams and licensed in Nova Scotia or scheduled to do so pending qualifications

DVM’s – dentistry is not necessary.  A passion for internal medicine is!

Willing to learn and grow, taking on more complex cases with mentoring as needed

RVT’s we do perform a lot of dentistry so an interest in both dentistry and internal medicine is a must.
