ATLANTIC VETERINARY COLLEGE
The Department of Health Management at the Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) invites applications for a full-time, 3-year term faculty position in Ruminant Health Management at the rank of Assistant Professor, commencing subject to approval. The successful candidate will join an established dairy health management team engaged in teaching, research, and clinical service.
Applicants must hold a DVM degree (or equivalent) with a postgraduate degree and be eligible for licensure with the Prince Edward Island Veterinary Medical Association. Candidates should demonstrate expertise or strong interest in dairy economics, nutrition, reproduction, mastitis management, livestock primary care, and a commitment to teaching excellence. Strong communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills are essential.
Assets include research experience in infectious and/or immune-mediated diseases, the ability to teach immunology in the DVM program, and interest in small ruminant health management.
Responsibilities include shared teaching, clinical, and emergency service duties with Farm Service faculty in clinical, laboratory, and classroom settings; teaching immunology; and conducting applied research in ruminant health management.
Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. A comprehensive benefits package is provided in accordance with the collective agreement.
